CONSTITUTION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF POLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS IN IRELAND

Purpose of the organisation

The general goal of the Association is to promote learning the Polish language. In pursuit of this goal, the Association will:

  • promote contacts and discussions between Polish language teachers in Ireland and contacts with Polish language teachers in other countries

Membership

  1. Anyone involved in teaching Polish in Ireland is an eligible member.
  2. The Committee may, at its discretion, grant honorary membership.

Membership fee

The benefits of membership are only available after paying the annual fee. The decision to increase the membership fee for the current school year is made by PTI.

Presidium

The representatives of the Association of Polish Teachers in Ireland will be:

  • Chairman
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

No member of the presidium may hold office for more than four consecutive years.

Duties of the Chairman:

Coordinates all activities of the Association and presides over all its meetings. The Chairman has the right to represent the Association publicly.

Vice-Chairman's responsibilities:

In the absence of the Chairman, he performs his duties.

Secretary's duties:

Responsible for organising the Association's activities and correspondence. Some of the duties of the Secretary may be delegated to other members of the Committee. The Secretary has the right to represent the Association publicly. The Secretary presents the Association's members with a report on the Association's activities in the past year.

Treasurer's duties:

Maintains accounting of all financial resources of the Association and presents regular financial reports at Association meetings. The financial year of the Association begins with the date of establishment of the Association. The Bureau decides on the signatories of the checks. The treasurer prepares the annual financial report.

Association meetings

A scheduled meeting of the Association takes place at the end of the first semester of the school year. Notice of the annual meeting shall be sent to all members at least fourteen days before the date of the meeting. The annual meeting can be held online. All members are eligible to participate. Topics to be discussed should be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 7 days in advance. Honorary members have no voting rights.

Extraordinary meetings of the Association

Extraordinary meetings of the Association may be convened at any time by the Secretary upon a written request signed by at least 6 members. The members of the Association are notified ten days in advance of convening an extraordinary meeting.

Changes in the Constitution

They may only take place at a meeting of the Association, after notifying all members at least fourteen days in advance. Any amendment must be adopted by a two-thirds majority of the members present at the meeting.
